IFCS uses a password file that records passwords in hashed format using the Unix crypt library function. The pwcrypt utility is a command-line interface to that function, and is available in the following forms.

To use pwcrypt, run it with the password as the argument. The 13-character string returned should be entered in your passwd file in the password field.
